A theoretical description of energy spectra and two-neutron separation energies for neutron-rich zirconium isotopes

چکیده
Very recently the atomic masses of neutron-rich Zr isotopes, from Zr to Zr, have been measured with high precision. Using a schematic Interacting Boson Model (IBM) Hamiltonian, the evolution from spherical to deformed shapes along the chain of Zr isotopes, describing at the same time the excitation energies as well as the two-neutron separation energies, can be rather well reproduced. The interplay between phase transitions and configuration mixing of intruder excitations in this mass region is succinctly addressed.

Description of nuclei in the A∼100 mass region with the interacting boson model
Abstract. Even–even nuclei in the A ∼ 100 mass region are investigated within the framework of the interacting boson model-1 (IBM-1). The study includes energy spectra and electric quadrupole transition properties of zirconium, molybdenum, ruthenium and palladium isotopes with neutron number N ≥ 52. A global parametrization of the IBM-1 Hamiltonian is found leading to a description of about 300...

Received (received date) Revised (revised date) RMF + BCS description of drip-line nuclei Recently it has been demonstrated, considering Ni and Ca isotopes as prototypes, that the relativistic mean-field plus BCS (RMF+BCS) approach wherein the single particle continuum corresponding to the RMF is replaced by a set of discrete positive energy states for the calculation of pairing energy provides...
متن کاملUsing Zirconium Borohydride as Neutron Shield in LINAC head
Introduction: One of the concerns about using of high energy photons in radiotherapy is neutron contamination production. The threshold energy of photoneutron production in most materials with high atomic number is about 7MeV. Therefore, it seems to be logical that the main components with high atomic number elements used in the LINAC head have a large contribution to the neutr...
متن کاملLow-lying dipole response in the relativistic quasiparticle time blocking approximation and its influence on neutron capture cross sections
We have computed dipole strength distributions for nickel and tin isotopes within the Relativistic Quasiparticle Time Blocking approximation (RQTBA). These calculations provide a good description of data, including the neutron-rich tin isotopes 130,132Sn. The resulting dipole strengths have been implemented in HauserFeshbach calculations of astrophysical neutron capture rates relevant for r-pro...
متن کاملA systematic study of Zr and Sn isotopes in the Relativistic Mean Field theory
The ground-state properties of Zr and Sn isotopes are studied within the relativistic mean field theory. Zr and Sn isotopes have received tremendous attention due to various reasons, including the predicted giant halos in the neutron-rich Zr isotopes, the unique feature of being robustly spherical in the region of 100 Sn ∼ 132 Sn and the particular interest of Sn isotopes to nuclear astrophysic...
